Bansaleños as well have their own festivities dedicated also to Santo Niño-the Dorongan Festival. It’s a feast of thanksgiving as the word Dorongan means in Bagobo Dialect.

These festivals were based on Sinulog that focuses on family and faith. Though some elements were from Cebu the celebration itself was authentic, since it has touched the hearts of souls of Santa Cruz, Bansalan and the whole of Davao del Sur.

As a spectator, I can feel that the audience and participants are sincere in their devotion. As I look at the different faces on the infant Jesus I saw lots of expressions of innocence and I can’t help but be emotional. The innocent sweet look of the Sto. Niño speaks that this kind of celebration should not be contained only in the Island of Cebu but to the rest of the world.
