We are Very Wordcastic

Spoken word or Spoken Poetry is a  word-based oral art that focusses on the delivery and wordplay. It has gained popularity nowadays and lots of artists are coming out to show their prowess in this art. In our locality this gained attention from the younger generation perhaps it is because Visayan culture includes this art, in the name of "Balak". Men used to compose poems and perform as a way to persuade young women alongside with serenading during the courtship process in older times. Now, the art of "Balak" has given a rebirth in the form of spoken word poetry. Today people are using this art as a platform to express their sentiments on issues that affect different sectors in our society.
Davao del Sur holds innumerable talents. In our province, one group stands out in promoting this art- The Wordcastic Davao del Sur.
Composed of young men and women, they are a bunch of typical people from all walks of life who have extraordinary visions.
